Viridian Weapon-Mounted Cameras Press Conference

The Salem Illinois Police Department is announcing the implementation of the FACT Duty Weapon-Mounted Camera Tuesday, July 2 at the Salem City Hall. Salem PD is the first department in Illinois to deploy Weapon-Mounted Cameras, and you’re invited to attend the joint news conference with Viridian Weapon Technologies that will take place at 10:00 am in the council chambers. Chief of Police Sean Reynolds and officials from Minnesota-based Viridian will give a short overview on the process, why the decision was made and the impact of the new technology. Salem joins dozens of agencies in the country that have implemented Viridian WMCs. The Viridian FACT Duty records automatically, provides an unobstructed view of critical use-of-force events from the end of the firearm and generates significantly less data than body cameras.
